With a sweet and crystal clear soprano voice, Edna D’Oliveira has delighted critics and opera fans in Brazil for many years. Her magnificent voice has been a highlight of a variety of roles and repertoires that she has participated in backed by her solid technique developed at the Royal Academy of London. She is a constant headliner in important venues like the Teatro Amazonas and Sala São Paulo, where she is a featured performer for the season of the State Symphony.
With the OSESP (Orquestra Sinfonica do Estado de São Paulo), some highlights include “Mass in C Minor, K 427”, conducted by Roberto Minczuk. In opera, her standout roles have been "Gilda", in Rigoletto (Verdi); "Musetta" in La Bohème (Puccini); "Micaëla", in Carmen (Bizet), and "Bess", in the musical Porgy and Bess (Gershwin). Aside from these performances, D’Oliveira was praised for her performances of L'Elisir d'Amore (Donizetti); Orfeo ed Euridice (Gluck), and the popular productions of João e Maria ("Hänsel und Gretel”, by Humperdinck), at the Teatro Municipal de São Paulo, and Die Walküre (Wagner), during the 6th Amazon Opera Festival. Among her many awards, she has received the National Song Award from Funarte, an important cultural institution in Brazil.
